I am a home based FFL business located in Flowery Branch, Georgia. Projects can be dropped off and picked up by appointment.
Yes! (to an extent). I have been able to work out plenty of deep scratches. To accomplish this, Cerakote itself doesn't cover the scratches, but you can remove superficial scratches through the sandblasting part preparation process before we apply the Cerakote. There may be more "Restoration" needed to remove deep scars or pitting.
Cerakote is not only affordable comparatively to other coatings due to its ease of doing single one-off parts, but it also scales up easily to do more bulk work projects. I find that its worth every penny as it increases the lifetime of your part(s) and weapons also it's available in any color you could possibly need to suit your setup
Caring for Cerakote-coated items involves basic maintenance, such as cleaning with soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners and solvents that may damage the coating. Usually wiping with a clean dry or damp cloth will wipe away any oils or contaminates. Usually there is no need to apply oil to cerakoted surfaces due to its properties.
You can give a call, text or send in the appointment form to set up a time to drop off your project.
If you are shipping a firearm I find it easier to use shipmygun.com. Call for the shipping address. There is no need for an FFL for service work and I will ship you back the firearm 2 day with insurance. No need for paperwork. Ensure you include a copy of your state ID and order form in the box with plenty of packing material to protect your firearm.
If you wish to send through your FFL dealer, I will forward them the documents they need to ship. After it's shipped back to them, you can work out picking the weapon up from them.
Surface Preparation: My process commences by strategically blasting the project down to the bare metal. This not only removes any existing coating but also establishes the ideal surface for ensuring secure Cerakote® adhesion.
Universal Blasting: Even if your part is already sandblasted or is devoid of any existing coating, I apply a specific grit size as recommended by Cerakote® to ensure uniformity in the preparation process.
Cleaning and Degreasing: Following the initial blasting, the parts are submerged in an acetone tank. This soak serves the dual purpose of cleaning and degreasing the parts, preparing them for the coating application. Subsequently, the parts are gassed out for a 30-minute cycle to bring any residual oils to the surface that may have soaked into the metal while being machined.
Repeat Process (If Necessary): If required, I repeat the degreasing and baking process until no traces of oils are detected, ensuring a pristine surface for the coating.
Fixturing: Your part is then fixtured in preparation for the application of your chosen coating and any optional effects you may have selected.
Coating Application: After first mixing the Cerakote in a hydraulic shaker for 10-15 minutes, I apply the selected coating and any additional effects you've chosen to achieve the desired finish and protection for your part.
Quality Inspection: Once the coating process is complete, I conduct a thorough quality check to identify and rectify any flaws or imperfections, ensuring that your part meets my high standards of quality.
Packaging: After passing the quality inspection, your project is carefully packed, ready to be shipped, and delivered to you, ensuring they arrive in perfect condition.
I take great care and attention to detail at each step of this process to provide you with the best possible results for your coated parts.
